Your Own Winery is a fun and unique educational and entertainment opportunity for men and women who love wine. We are a wine-making shop, where wine lovers come to personally make their own wine starting from wine juices, not grapes, with personal instruction from our wine-making experts. By starting with wine juice and not grapes, the entire wine-making process is completed in just 8 weeks. This makes Your Own Winery the only personal wine-making option like us in the northeast, and we believe the entire US. Wine lovers come to us from a 2 – 3 hour drive away for the fun and enjoyment of making their own wine at our shop. We are located on Route 23 North in Butler, NJ, in Morris county, close to Passaic, Bergen, and Essex counties. We are not a bar or wine store. Your Own Winery is classified as a New Jersey ABC licensed “Wine-Making School”. Our shop is an elegant ultra-clean 2,000 square foot wine making space, wine art adorning the walls, with the pleasant aromas of wine filling the air, giving guests the feel of being in a true winery. In addition to being a truly unique wine-making experience, Your Own Winery is a very special venue for all kinds of parties and events – Bridal Showers, Birthday & Anniversary parties, company events for customers and employees, teambuilding, even baby showers.

At Your Own Winery, guests select and make their own very special and personalized wine. Hence our name, “Your Own Winery”. A faux winery where you make “Your Own Wine”. A Unique Wine Making experience

Guests can sample several different wines at no charge before choosing a wine to make. The selected wine starts with a kit of ready-to-ferment, concentrated wine juice (no grape crushing required) and all the necessary ingredients. Our expert shop staff, guide guests personally how to handle each step to create their own perfect wine. Each wine-making session takes 6–8 weeks, with guests completing 2 or 3 in-shop wine-making dates of approximately 1 hour each. In the final bottling and labeling session, guests select the bottle type and color they want to use, and create their own personalized bottle label for their batch of wine.

We are an Independent Wine Making Shop

Your Own Winery is a completely independent wine making shop, not affiliated with any franchise or commercial winery. As an independent shop we enjoy unrestricted ability to source wine juice and product from suppliers throughout the US and Canada, who in turn source wine grapes from vineyards around the world. We keep over 50 different wine juices in stock at all times including many options for all the traditional red and white wine varietals, plus many unique red and wine blends and sweet flavored wines not available in stores. We also can special order at no extra charge over 200 additional wines.

Your Own Winery has a retail section offering a wide variety of wine enjoyment merchandise and wine-making supplies for the home wine maker.

Following a lifetime of tasting and enjoying wines of all types. Visiting vineyards and wineries throughout the US and Canada. Then discovering the great fun and joy of making our own wine. All resulted in opening our own wine-making shop so others could experience the same was an easy decision. As long-time residents of Passaic County, New Jersey, it was only natural to locate our shop close to home.
